What is Realm vs. Realm™?
Realm vs. Realm, or RvR, is a term trademarked by Mythic during the development of Dark Age of Camelot. RvR is team-based Player vs. Player (PVP) game-play where each realm works together toward a common goal. Players choose a side by selecting a race and, in the case of Warhammer Online, they battle it out in areas and work toward goals provided by the game, including Scenarios, Keep Siege, and City Siege. It means that a player never has to fight alone because there is always an army of allies that has his back. Players can choose to level up in RvR areas, or stay in safer, Player vs. Environment (PvE) areas until they are ready to jump into the real battles of WAR.
Will Americans and Europeans be on the same servers?
No, GOA is handling all European distribution and all the European servers. They're also handling the translation issues for the German, Italian, Spanish, and French players. We are working much, much more closely with GOA than we did on Camelot. The experience of the typical GOA player, and that of the typical player in North America, should be exactly the same with all content being released simultaneously.
What are Action Points and how do they work?
Action Points (AP) are a pool available to each character that enables them to use special, powerful abilities. They're a baseline resource that players must manage strategically in combat to guarantee that they are able to execute the right move at the right time in a fight. If the AP pool has been exhausted, players need to wait for it to replenish before executing additional abilities with an AP-cost attached to them. AP regenerates rather quickly, so it never takes more than a few seconds to get back into the action.
Are any races or careers limited to one gender?
One of the things that makes Warhammer such an exciting IP is its rich tapestry of lore and backstory. In keeping with the flavor of this tradition, Warhammer Online's races and careers have varied accessibility based on gender. The Greenskin are technically only one gender (neither male nor female), and Chaos Marauders and Chosen must be male. Witch Elves must be female. There is no room for a Groom of Khaine! However, Malekith has chosen to unleash the full fury of dark magic upon his cousins by allowing both males and females to become Sorcerers.
Will players have other means of regenerating their health or action points besides resting?
Aside from healers who can restore HP, there will be potions, elixirs, draughts, etc. that can regenerate health and/or Action Points.
Will I be able to make characters on the same server for both factions? Example: an Empire and Chaos character on the same server?
No, players are only allowed to have characters of one faction on a server. If you want to try out another faction, you will have to create a character on a different server.
